Riding with a sense of responsibility to learn to interact with the horse and to handle and care for the horse in a respectful and considerate way takes some education on our part. The wonderful people below are bringing cutting edge insight to the horse world. Each of these teachers have dedicated their lives to educating people in the ways of the horse. Shea has great respect for each and every one of them, and hopes you will find in some of them a more satisifying way in which to spend time with your horse and help their lives be long and healthy.
Harry has amazing insight into the behavior of the horse. He communicates with them in a thoughtful way and helps people have a better understanding of their horse’s thought and feelings.
David’s western saddles are about the horse! They will also sit you in a balanced seat. His clinics are very educational. Not only does he cover saddle fit, but he also talks about the history of saddle styles and how that has affected today's riding disciplines.
Ross and Michele are located in Australia. They teach clinics and train horses for the public. Every Spring we are privileged to have them here with us.
Melissa is a fellow trainer located in the Sierra Nevada Foothills with whom Shea collaborates.
Pete is passionate about what he does and always posts articles on his website. If you see that a Pete Ramey clinic is scheduled in your area, don't miss it!
Silver Fiddle Ranch is a beautiful ranch located in Volcano, CA encompassing whole horse care. Shea is invited to Silver Fiddle Ranch four times a year to teach horsemanship clinics.
The mission of Redwings Horse Sanctuary is to eliminate the causes of equine suffering through education and community outreach programs, rescue abused and neglected equines, and provide permanent sanctuary or selected foster homes for those equines. Shea goes to Redwings once a month to work on basic handling for Redwings horses who have been abused.
This unique magazine is devoted to raising awareness about the plight of horses worldwide and offering resources and other information designed to alleviate their suffering and end their exploitation. Shea's article "A Horse Named Melanie" was published in the magazine's Spring 2007 issue. Shea looks forward to regularly contributing articles on horsemanship in the future.
Shea has started a new journey of learning Equine Craniosacral with Maureen Rogers. Shea has been getting human craniosacral on herself for 20 years and understands how beneficial it is to the body. With all of the pressure that we as humans put on a horse's head, equine craniosacral can offer benefits to numerous physical issues in horses. Shea has completed ECS 1, and is scheduled to do ECS 2 in January 2010. Shea is incorporating craniosacral in her training and has been seeing really nice results. Above all forms of body work, Shea believes that craniosacral gets to the root of many issues.
This is a poweful antioxidant super food drink that I started and can't recommend it enough. It is 1/3 freeze dried acai, and 19 other fruits chosen specifically for their natural anti-inflammatory properties and their high antioxidant levels. It has helped me in so many ways and I think everyone can benefit from it.
A wonderful on-line store where you will find pure, all natural skin care, bath products, and gifts. Each product is carefully hand selected and there are no harmful ingredients for your body or the earth!
