SHEA'S HORSEMANSHIP & RIDING CLINICS AND LESSONS
Shea travels to different locations to teach horsemanship and riding clinics. The clinics are designed for the individual needs of each horse and rider. They provide an opportunity for riders to improve their horsemanship skills, and to better understand how to help certain needs their horses may have. Some people come because they have a specific problem that they want addressed. Others come to see what more they can learn from their horse or to help get their horse started on the right path. Either way, Shea's goal is that you leave with a clear understanding of how to continue your relationship with your horse. So many riders depend on being told what to do from a trainer or clinician with no understanding of "why". Or they depend on a trainer to "fix" the horse's problem. Shea focuses on helping riders become more aware of the "why's" so they can understand their horse better and not depend on someone else to do the fixing.
Shea can also assess your horse for physical issues, and help you with proper tack and head gear. Each lesson starts with a discussion of where the horse and rider are at and what the rider wishes to focus on. Shea then likes to observe a little of how the horse and rider work together. This gives her an opportunity to meet the horse and jointly set out some goals. Each session lasts approximately an hour. Shea travels to CA every 8 weeks for lessons, clinics, and equine craniosacral appointments. Shea travels around Santa Cruz, San Jose, Moss Beach, Sierra Foothills, Fresno, and San Diego.
